Our botanical bitters are an enticing blend of bitter and aromatic herbs including lemon balm, artichoke, and chamomile. This herbaceous bitters blend is a cheery, refreshing, and uplifting way to support the daily functioning of the digestive system.

Bitterness may be one of the few flavors that most folks generally try to avoid. However, bitter foods and herbs have been a healthful component of Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and folk herbalism for thousands of years. The taste of bitter signals the body to begin secreting digestive juices, stimulates peristalsis, and helps to support a well-functioning gastrointestinal (GI) tract. In some cultures, bitter herbs are macerated in liqueurs to create a pre-meal libation (aperitif) or an after-meal digestive aid (digestif).

Herbal bitters are typically prepared using at least one (but usually a blend) of many different bitter herbs. Bitters are generally taken 15 minutes before a meal but can also be enjoyed after eating or even between meals. Botanical herbal bitters can be added to water (sparkling, still, cool, or warm) or enjoyed directly on the tongue. The idea of tasting bitters is to actually taste the bitterness, but we don’t think you’ll mind our aromatic and enlivening botanical bitters blend.

Our botanical bitters include ginger root which supports healthy digestion and helps relieve occasional upset stomach and nausea and chamomile which promotes relaxation and supports digestive health.*

Ingredients
Organic alcohol, water, organic lemon balm herb, organic artichoke leaf, organic catnip herb, organic chamomile flowers, organic ginger root, organic rosehips, and organic angelica root.

• 1 oz. and 2 oz. extracts come in amber glass bottles with a dropper.
• 8 oz. size comes in an amber glass bottle with a plastic screw cap and does not include a dropper.
• 32 oz. extracts come in plastic bottles with a plastic screw cap.

Precautions
Persons with allergies to other members of the Asteraceae family should exercise caution with chamomile. The infusion should not be used near the eyes. Not for use in pregnancy except under the supervision of a qualified healthcare practitioner.
