Nettle Root Extract Organic

Urtica dioica thrives in damp climates and wet soils. Native to Europe, nettles have extended their reach around the world. Nettle is a dioecious, herbaceous, perennial plant and a member of the Urticaceae family. The leaves and stems bear many stinging hairs (trichomes), whose tips come off when touched, causing paresthesia and giving the plant its name of stinging nettle.

The entire plant including the leaves, seeds, stalk, and roots, have a long history of use from food to textile fibers. Nettle roots have traditionally been used in European folk practices as an ingredient in male care blends and a tonic herb for the urinary tract. Nettle supports healthy urinary function and has mild diuretic action and helps to maintain upper respiratory health.*

Nettle root extract can be combined with a variety of herbs to create a specific and personalized blend including, corn silk extract, Oregon grape root extract, and marshmallow root extract to name a few. Stinging nettle root tincture can even be combined with nettle leaf tincture to make a holistic nettle liquid extract. Take directly on the tongue or add to juice, water, or tea such as happy man tea.

• 8 oz. and 16 oz. sizes come in amber glass bottles with a plastic screw cap and do not include a dropper.
