Our herbal hair color blends are based around the Lawsonia inermis plant, a shrub that grows in the deserts of the Middle East, West Asia, and North Africa. This plant contains hennotannic acid and, when mixed with hot water, will coat the hair. This style of hair pigment seals in oils and tightens the cuticle giving your hair a rich, healthy shine. Our botanical hair color is not suitable for temporary tattooing.
An herbal hair tint application will blend naturally and fade gradually without noticeable regrowth. The color may last up to three months and can be applied every 4-6 weeks if desired. Switching from chemical hair dyes to organic herbal hair colors may require multiple applications to obtain the desired shade and is dependent on hair condition. If chemicals have not been used in the past, our hair product should cover in the first application. While it’s possible to color gray with this method, it may take multiple applications. Please note that herbal hair colors are not designed to lift color from hair, and will not work to create highlights or lighten hair color.
We strongly recommend a strand test before doing a full application.

How Much Herbal Hair Color Should I Use?
Shorter hair: 1-2 oz.
Medium-length hair: 3-5 oz.
Long hair: 6-9 oz.

How Herbal Hair Color Is Colored
Our herbal hair color contains Lawsonia inermis. Other botanical ingredients are included to create the many different shades.
Ingredients
Black: Organic indigo powder, organic amla powder, organic henna powder, organic ziziphus powder, organic eucalyptus powder, organic aloe powder, organic turmeric powder, and organic chamomile powder.
Blonde: Organic cassia powder, organic indigo powder, organic henna powder, organic amla powder, organic ziziphus powder, organic eucalyptus powder, organic aloe powder, organic turmeric powder, and organic chamomile powder.
Brown: Organic cassia powder, organic indigo powder, organic henna powder, organic amla powder, organic ziziphus powder, organic eucalyptus powder, organic aloe powder, organic turmeric powder, and organic chamomile powder.
Chestnut: Organic henna powder, organic indigo powder, organic amla powder, organic ziziphus powder, organic eucalyptus powder, organic aloe powder, organic turmeric powder, and organic chamomile powder.

How Herbal Hair Color Works
Botanical, henna-based blends form a protective coat of rich semi-permanent color around each hair strand. They easily adhere to the hair cuticle and penetrate the cortex region of the hair to develop color through a natural oxidation.
Hair Preparation
Color may be applied to damp or dry hair that is clean. Towel dry if needed. Apply cream or oil around the hairline, ears, and neck to avoid staining your skin.
Color Preparation
Mix with lukewarm water, approximately 104° Fahrenheit, and stir to make a creamy paste.
Hair Application
Wear plastic or rubber gloves to avoid staining your hands.
1.Separate hair into 1-inch thick sections.
2. Using a brush, begin at the scalp and paint paste onto hair from roots to ends.
3. Continue applying until all hair is thickly coated with the mixture.
4. Place a cotton or tissue band around the hairline. Cover hair with a shower cap and let sit until desired color is achieved.
5. Rinse hair thoroughly with clean plain water. Allow to air dry.
Timing by color:
Darker colors: Leave on for 60-90 minutes.
Lighter colors: Leave on for 30-60 minutes.
Precautions
For external use only. Do not use around the eyes or on cut or abraded scalp. Keep out of reach of children. Do not swallow. Not to be used for dyeing eyelashes or eyebrows. In case of eye contact, rinse with plenty of water. Conduct a sensitivity test before using this product.
