Vitex Extract Organic

Native to the Mediterranean region, Vitex agnus-castus is now grown throughout temperate regions worldwide. It is a small shrub with lance shaped leaves and purple flowers. Vitex is commonly referred to as chaste tree, taking its name from Greek legends associating the tree with chastity and faithfulness. Monks utilized this botanical in historic times. 

Vitex berry has been employed in traditional European herbalism for reproductive support for thousands of years and is currently used extensively in Germany and throughout Europe. The dried fruit, also called chasteberry, can be infused into herbal tea, cracked and sprinkled over food for a peppery spice, or tinctured. Vitex supports physical and emotional health during a woman’s menstrual cycle and in the transition into menopause.*

Our vitex extract is crafted with fresh, organic berries and organic alcohol at our extract facility in Eugene, Oregon. This warming astringent tincture can be taken in water or juice or in a cup of tea such as vita-blend tea, peace tea, or women’s balancing tea. Vitex extract pairs well with other individual extracts including ashwagandha or oats, and with extract blends like adapt care and female care.

• 8 oz. size comes in amber glass bottles with a plastic screw cap and does not include a dropper.
• 32 oz. extracts come in plastic bottles with a plastic screw cap.
